One day in Munich

There is always something to discover in Munich. Whether it’s 1 o’clock at lunchtime or 1 o’clock at night – there’s always something going on here. If you want to experience everything the city has to offer in 24 hours, then you should start with a good breakfast. Here you have the choice between our Cocoon Hauptbahnhof, Cocoon Stachus or the Cocoon Sendlinger Tor. Alternatively, you can simply grab a pretzel and set off straight away. Continue with a guided tour of the Old Town to discover the most important and most beautiful sights in a short time. The programme includes world-famous buildings and squares such as Marienplatz, the Frauenkirche, the Hofbräuhaus and the Viktualienmarkt. Most tours last around 90 minutes and are definitely a must to get a first impression of Munich and its most important treasures. If the weather is nice, you should take a walk through the English Garden. Covering 375 hectares, it is one of the largest parks in the world. In the southern part of the park you will find famous buildings such as the Monopteros or the Chinese Tower. If the weather is bad, we recommend a tour of the Alte Pinakothek. Here you will find one of the most important art galleries in the world with paintings by painters from the Middle Ages to the mid-18th century. Tip: On Sundays, you only pay €1 admission here. Hunger is slowly setting in and you are probably already looking for something to eat. In the unique Urban Oasis, our Cocoon Sendlinger Tor, you can enjoy a pinsa to your liking. After a tasty pinsa and a good drink in our Cocoon Pinsa & Bar, you now have the opportunity to explore Munich’s nightlife and really let your hair down. The evening will be particularly good in these bars and pubs: In the immediate vicinity of Sendlinger Tor you will find the ‘Jaded Monkey’ bar. The menu here features almost exclusively the bar’s own creations, such as “The White Pearl”. Another pro tip is ‘Zephyr’ in the Glockenbachviertel. None other than the New York Times described ‘Zephyr’ as the best bar in Munich. On the menu you will find drinks such as “Flash Dance” or “Flying Carpet”, but you also have the option of making a request at the bar and the bartender will put together a delicious drink for you. After a long and eventful day, retire to your cocoon and fall into a well-deserved sleep.
